Relais connects your iPhone directly to coding agents running on a Mac you control. It supports OpenCode, Codex Preview >=0.144.5, Kimi Code Preview, and Claude Code Limited Preview. Relais does not require a Relais account. The initial public release does not use the Relais-provided rendezvous service; you choose a private or self-hosted connection service.
The iPhone stores a revocable device credential in ThisDeviceOnly Keychain storage and a bounded protected cache of recent session views and drafts. Disconnecting removes that profile, credential, cache, and drafts from the iPhone. The Mac stores its configuration, host identity, paired-device records, and gateway state in owner-only files. Relais uses the existing Codex installation and sign-in on the Mac and does not copy Codex credentials to iOS or its database.
Chat text, model output, commands, diffs, approvals, questions, and files travel directly between your iPhone and Mac. They are not sent to a Relais server. Your chosen rendezvous forwards only bounded, end-to-end encrypted WebRTC setup messages and may observe ordinary network metadata such as IP addresses, timing, and a pseudonymous Mac routing identifier. A configured STUN provider can observe ordinary STUN metadata.
Prompts and files submitted to OpenCode, Codex, Kimi Code, or Claude Code can be sent to OpenAI, Moonshot AI, Anthropic, or another model provider according to the configuration on your Mac. Coding agents, model providers, Tailscale, Cloudflare, a domain registrar, or another service you choose operate under their own terms and privacy policies. Relais does not sell personal information, track users across apps or websites, or include advertising or analytics SDKs.
